Get ready to celebrate all things Fallout with Fallout Day 2024 rapidly approaching for the year. And if you were out of the loop, Fallout Day in the real world coincides with the canonical in-game date where humanity retreated into the Vaults when the bombs dropped.
Luckily for us real-worlders, we don’t have to worry about any bombs (not anytime soon anyway we hope) but we can instead celebrate with even more Fallout content from the beloved franchise.
And in even more good news, Fallout 76 is about to get some crazzyyy new updates and events to celebrate this year’s Fallout Day and Halloween so we’ll check out the new additions to get you up to speed!

Fallout Day 2024 Broadcast Date
For the first time in its history, to celebrate Fallout Day developers Bethesda are holding a special Fallout Day broadcast to unveil the new content and updates coming to Fallout 76.
So if you were planning to tune in to the live broadcast, it’ll be hosted on October 23rd, 2024 at 12 PM PST.
What Can We Expect with the Fallout Day Broadcast?
Pets in C.A.M.P
One of the most highly anticipated new updates coming to Fallout 76 that will be unveiled further in the Fallout Day Broadcast is the addition of Pets! With the new update, players will be able to house Pets in their C.A.M.P.
For now, we do have confirmation that you’ll be able to keep dogs and cats as Fallout 76 pets but we also expect this to expand to other animals in the game. For example, we might see mole rats, Brahmin, wolves, and other animals that you’ll be able to keep as pets.
However, for now, we don’t have any confirmation on which other Fallout 76 animals can be categorized as ‘pets’ but we hope we’ll be able to house some of the universe’s most devastating ‘animals’, like Deathclaws or even radscorpions.
It’s not likely, but one can dream.
Spooky Scorched and Trick or Treat Event
Ahead of the October 23rd broadcast, we’ll also see the Sppoky Scorched and Trick or Treat event go live in Fallout 76. The event will be available from October 22nd to November 5th.
These aren’t entirely new events since we’ve seen the event every year since 2021 but it should host a variety of rewards for taking down Spooky Scorched and going trick-or-treating around your neighborhood.
For the Spooky Scorched event, you’ll notice Scorched enemies donning ‘spooooky’ attire and Halloween costumes with some eerie Halloween music as entrance music roaming around the Appalachian wasteland.
Twitch Drops, Double XP Event, & Anniversary C.A.M.P Contest
Besides the Fallout 76 Pets update and Halloween events, on the day of the Fallout Day broadcast, players will also be able to get Twitch Drops and gain more XP with the Double XP event.
If it’s your first time doing a ‘Twitch drops’ event, here’s a brief rundown; Simply login to Twitch with an account linked to your Fallout 76 account. Then watch a streamer playing Fallout 76 with Twitch drops enabled to earn in-game items.
The good news is Twitch drops for Fallout will be available from October 23rd and runs until November 20th.
The Fallout 76 Double XP event will be available starting from October 23rd and will be live until October 27th.
Additionally, for fans of building out their camps, there’ll also be an Anniversary C.A.M.P contest starting from November 1st to November 20th. We don’t have the details of the contest as yet but we can expect players will be cleaning up their C.A.M.Ps to earn some awesome prizes.
Besides what we’ve mentioned above, we can also expect more Fallout-related news aside from Fallout 76 so stay tuned to the broadcast to learn everything Bethesda has been working on.
